Where It Started

Early Real World Testing On The Las Vegas Strip

About

About Brian / The Story Behind HoloSplay

Long before HoloSplay became a business, it started as curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to jump into something completely new. Brian came from the dog industry and was working at a dog daycare when COVID shut everything down. Like everyone else, he had no idea how long it would last or what came next. What was supposed to be a short pause turned into weeks, then months. During that downtime, he discovered hologram fan technology, bought a couple of units, and started experimenting. When the fans arrived at his home in Orange County, he packed up and headed to Las Vegas almost immediately. There was no polished business plan or playbook. The idea was simple: get the technology out into the real world and find out what it could actually do.

Vegas became the testing ground. Brian spent countless hours using hologram displays in real environments, on the Strip, at events, on mobile setups, with backpacks, scooters, large-format displays, and experimental installations. He tested different fan sizes, different mounting configurations, different graphics, different lighting conditions, different environments, and different types of motion. He learned firsthand which content looked incredible and which content exposed the limitations of the technology. Bright objects, clean silhouettes, jewelry, products, characters, logos, and tightly framed animations could look unbelievable. Other graphics might reveal the outer edge of the fan or lose impact because they simply were not designed correctly for the medium. That understanding only came from doing it over and over again, night after night, in front of real people.

That hands-on experience eventually led to larger displays, event activations, promotional work, Area15 projects, mobile hologram advertising, custom concepts, and years of understanding both the hardware and the creative side of the technology. More importantly, it taught Brian that hologram displays are only as good as the content running on them and the support behind them. A fan can look impressive in a product photo, but commercial reliability, proper hardware, strong graphics, correct setup, cloud control, and knowing how to create content specifically for holographic display all make an enormous difference.

For years, one of the biggest limitations was content. The hardware was exciting, but creating fresh, customized animation was slow, expensive, and difficult. Much of the industry circulated the same small library of generic graphics. AI changed that. Suddenly, the creative side of hologram technology caught up with the hardware. Custom products, logos, promotions, characters, environments, and branded animations could be created faster than ever before. That shift is what brought Brian back to the technology and ultimately led to HoloSplay.

Today, HoloSplay is built around those years of real-world experience. The goal is not simply to sell a hologram fan. It is to help businesses understand how to use the technology effectively, choose the right hardware, create content that actually looks good on the display, manage it remotely, and keep it fresh long after installation. HoloSplay combines commercial-grade hardware, modern content creation, cloud-based control, and practical experience earned through thousands of hours of testing, experimenting, building, and learning what works.
